Don just celebrated his 4-year anniversary with Maxwell and Molly’s, starting out working in the
Newton location for 15 hours a week, he now manages the North Village at Sparta location. He
came to us with no pet nutrition background other than the food that he started feeding his dog
3 years earlier.
Don has become very well versed in pet nutrition relating to foods and
supplements for both dogs and cats. Not only does Don make appropriate recommendations to
his customers, but he uses most of them so that he can speak about his personal experiences.
Don has been a Small Business owner as well as a Corporate IT Professional. Many of those
talents have been used at Maxwell and Molly’s by upgrading IT systems.
Although Don misses managing the Newton location and greeting all the dogs coming in for spa
treatments, he has found his “groove” in our Sparta location. He enjoys meeting new customers
and seeing many of Maxwell and Molly’s customers he has known for years.
Don has always had dogs and/or cats in his life. After suddenly loosing “one of the best dogs
ever”, he had the chance to rescue a timid chihuahua mixed breed “mommy” from the Denville
Animal Shelter. That was 5 years ago this month! Lucy came to Don and his husband as an
anxious, non-socialized, scared dog from a hoarding situation. After a lot of work, patience and
CBD, Lucy now enjoys life as the “queen’ of the house.
Two years ago, he found “Lenny” (a wire-haired Dachshund) on the Denville Animal Shelter’s
Facebook page and knew then that he had to meet him! Lenny, the product of another
horrendous hoarding situation, went home with him that day and the rest is history! And yes,
Lenny is a true Dachshund; smart, goofy, happy, and very loving! And don wouldn’t have it any
Don feeds a raw diet, including goat milk and various supplements and has seen the
transformation from dull & matted fur, as well as stinky breath and dental problems to silky
smooth hair and clean fresh breath! Both of Don’s dogs suffer with anxiety issues; treated with
CBD & Hemp treats, they are both now more relaxed and confident dogs!
