Q: What makes Maxwell & Molly’s different from other pet stores?

We’re more than a big box pet store — we’re a community. At Maxwell & Molly’s, we focus on high-quality, safe and natural products that we’d use for our own pets. We carefully choose brands we trust, many made in the USA, and love helping pet parents find exactly what their beloved pet needs. Food for dogs big, small, and everything in between — and for cats too! Treats, toys, apparel, supplies, and adorable accessories for both fill our shelves. 

Q. Do you carry products made in the USA or locally sourced?

Yes! Supporting local and American-made products is a big part of who we are. You’ll find many of our foods, treats, and accessories made right here in the USA, and Canada too.

Q. I love the idea of feeding my pet better, but is it affordable?

Absolutely! We believe every pet deserves wholesome, nutritious food—no matter your budget. That’s why we offer trusted, healthy options at a range of price points and love helping you find what works best for your pet and your family.

Q. What types of pets do you cater to?

We specialize in dogs of ALL sizes and cats.

Q. What is your return or exchange policy?

Refunds will only be granted BEFORE you leave the store with your purchase of unopened food, treats, and merchandise.  Once you leave the store and within two (2) weeks from date of purchase, we will gladly provide and exchange or store credit for the following items:  

Food & packaged treats in original packaging & ⅔ or more full.

Products: clothing, collars, harnesses & leashes MUST have all tags attached and be in unused condition.

Toys, beds and unpackaged treats are final sale items and cannot be returned or exchanged for sanitary reasons.

Q. Can I shop online at Maxwell & Molly’s?

We don’t offer online shopping — and that’s by design! We believe the best way to serve you is in person, where we can meet you and your pet, learn about their unique needs, and help you find the perfect products. Visiting us in-store also gives your pet the chance to sniff, explore, and enjoy the Maxwell & Molly’s experience.

Q. Can I refer a friend?

Surely!  Stop in during your next visit, grab a business card (located at the register and pass it on!) Both of you will save $ on a future visit!  And thanks for sharing the love!

Q. Do you sell gift cards?

Yes — gift cards are available in-store and make the perfect present for pet parents.

Maxwell & Molly’s has 2 locations:  

Hamburg at 92 NJ-23, South Hamburg, NJ 07419   

Sparta at 4 N Village Blvd Suite D, Sparta, NJ 07871 

Our current hours are: Monday thru Saturday 9am to 7pm & Sunday 9am to 4pm.  Holiday hours or weather related delays or closings may be subject to change —check social media for updates.

Q. Do you offer grain-free, raw, or specialty diets?

Absolutely! We carry a wide range of diets including grain-free, raw, freeze-dried, dehydrated, gently-cooked and limited-ingredient foods. The M&M crew will help guide you to the best option for your pet’s needs and your family’s budget.

Q. What’s the best way to transition my pet to a new food?

S-L-O-W-L-Y! We recommend mixing the new food with the old food over 7–10 days, gradually increasing the new food while decreasing the old. This helps prevent tummy upset.

Q. Are your treats and chews all-natural?

Yes — we only carry treats and chews that we feel good about giving our own pets. That means natural ingredients, safe sourcing, and no hidden fillers.

Q. Do you carry supplements for joints, skin, and digestion?

Yes! From hip & joint chews to probiotics and skin & coat support, we have a variety of supplements to help keep your pets feeling their best.

Q. Are your products vet-approved?

Many of our brands are developed by veterinarians &/or nutritionists , and we carefully research everything we carry. While we aren’t vets, we’re happy to point you toward products that support your pet’s overall wellness. Stop by and bring your pet because we would love to meet you and we want to assist you in choosing exactly what you want and need.

Q. Can you special order items you don’t currently stock?

In most cases, yes! If there’s a brand or product you’re looking for, let us know and we’ll do our best to bring it in for you.

We do! From cozy sweaters to stylish collars and fun seasonal items, you’ll find plenty of ways to keep your pets both comfortable and fashionable.  Items sell quickly, and stock varies by store so stop in to see current offerings! New items are delivered daily!

We carry easy-to-use options including oils and chews. Dosages vary by size and need, and our crew is happy to guide you in finding the right product for your precious pet.

Q. Do you host events for pets and owners?

Yes! From adoption days to themed parties (like our annual Purple Party), we love celebrating pets and their people. Follow us on social media for updates.

Q. Do you support local shelters or rescues?

Giving back is at the heart of Maxwell & Molly’s. We regularly partner with local rescues and donate supplies to pets in need. M&M also helps to maintain a Pet Pantry at Project Self Sufficiency AND Benny’s Bodega.

Q. Do you have a rewards or loyalty program?

Yes — our PLATINUM PAWS loyalty program gives you a 5% discount on all store stock! This program is automatically activated for you when you have spent $200 at any of our Maxwell & Molly’s store locations. We also offer a discount to all military veterans.

Q. Do you offer birthday perks for pets?

We sure do! Stop in during your pet’s birthday month for a little something special.  Items vary by month but always shows our love for your precious pet.💕
